Treatment Performance Monitoring
For drinking water supplies utilizing treatment systems, ensuring annual performance monitoring to verify that treatment processes are effectively removing contaminants and maintaining water safety.
Why This Suite Is Important
Investing in water treatment systems is a significant step toward safe drinking water, but how do you know if they are working effectively?
Confirms if your treatment system is operating as expected by evaluating key water quality indicators.
Detects issues with filtration, UV disinfection, and chemical treatment, ensuring adjustments can be made if needed.
Helps validate whether the treatment solution chosen is the right one for your water supply.
Regular treatment performance monitoring gives you confidence that your investment in water treatment is providing safe, high-quality drinking water for your household, business, or community.
The Maximum Acceptable Values (MAVs) and treatment limits for these determinands are:
Chemical & Physical Contaminants:
Arsenic: 0.01 mg/L
Calcium: No MAV (important for scaling and hardness assessment)
Iron: 0.2 mg/L (Aesthetic guideline, staining at high levels)
Magnesium: No MAV (contributes to hardness in water)
Silica: Must meet manufacturer specifications for filtration performance
Total Hardness: No MAV (affects scaling and soap lathering, optimal range varies)
Turbidity: Must be at a level suitable for cartridge filtration and UV disinfection
UV Transmittance: Must meet UV manufacturer specifications
📌 If you have a Safe Supply Online Drinking Water Safety Plan, your test results can be automatically shared with the online tool, made available to members of your water supply, and scheduled for submission to the regulator as required.
📌 Results must be retained for at least 5 years and made available to all members of the water supply.
