AS Roof 3-monthly Post-treatment Microbiological Monitoring
For drinking water supplies using theAcceptable Solution for Roof Water Supplies (AS-RW), this suite provides routine microbiological monitoring of treated water every 3 months to verify treatment effectiveness and drinking water safety.
Why This Suite Is Important
Regular microbiological monitoring is essential for ensuring that treatment systems are effectively removing microbial contaminants from roof water. E. coli and total coliforms are key indicators of bacterial contamination, and their presence can indicate treatment failure or contamination within the water system.
The Maximum Acceptable Value (MAVs) and treatment limit for these determinands are:
E. coli: Must not be detected in 100 mL samples
The drinking water supplier is responsible for determining the sampling schedule and locations to be sampled from (e.g., rotating the properties to be sampled from). Samples must be geographically representative of the supply.
📌 If you have a Safe Supply Online Drinking Water Safety Plan, your test results can be automatically shared with the online tool, made available to members of your water supply, and scheduled for submission to the regulator as required.
📌 Results must be retained for at least 5 years and made available to all members of the water supply.
💬 Need Help?
Once you receive your results, we can introduce you to a water quality expert with knowledge of drinking water and treatment options to assist in understanding the results and developing a drinking water supply strategy.
